Menstrual Hygiene is a big challenge among girls from poor homes and backgrounds in Ghana. These girls miss 5 days of school every month due to a lack of sanitary products. To manage their menstrual cycles, many girls resort to using unhygienic materials like clothes and paper. This can lead to serious reproductive health problems, including urinary tract infections and cervical cancer. The fear of getting their clothes dirty deters them from attending school during this time. This leads to difficulties concentrating in class and can result in dropouts among female students
SFLIG volunteers aim to address menstrual hygiene issues by creating a Pad Bank. This initiative provides sanitary pads to girls in orphanages and poor homes every term. Girls can then focus on their studies, gain confidence, and compete with male peers. Support us through volunteering or donate to support this initiative through https://www.paypal.me/sfligvolunteers
