Our creative arts volunteer program in Ghana takes place in schools and childcare centers in Accra, Kumasi, and Cape Coast (mainly Accra).
With arts newly introduced into the school curriculum, there is a strong need for volunteers to support creative learning and help children express themselves through art.
During school holidays, volunteers also support after-school programs in orphanages and girls empowerment centres.
Your Role as a Creative Arts Volunteer
As a creative arts volunteer in Ghana, you will:
- Teach arts and crafts, drawing, painting, and clay work
- Organize creative activities like music, dance, and drama
- Support children’s creativity and self-expression
- Assist teachers with lessons and classroom activities
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom
- Support basic English learning when needed
Daily Activities
- Morning: Creative arts lessons in schools
- Afternoon: Activities, mentoring, or assisting teachers
- Evening: Free time or cultural experience
What to Expect
Creative arts is still developing in many schools, so your role is very valuable. You may work with limited materials, but this allows you to be innovative and resourceful.
