French Teaching Volunteers are of great support to SFLIG Volunteers adopted schools. Ghana is surrounded by French countries making French Teaching volunteers of great help. Consequently, we require volunteers who can converse in French to help in schools. French Teaching Volunteers don’t need to be qualified teachers. Any person who can communicate fluently in French is suitable to join this program. They will teach and assist the French teachers, play with the kids, and help out with their French homework. As a French Teaching volunteer, you will work with children from age 4 to 16 years. Volunteers can equally decide on the age range or class they are comfortable handling. Volunteers help preschool and basic school children identify objects, numbers, letters, animals, etc in French. Volunteers help students at the upper primary and high school to construct simple French sentences. Once a French teaching Volunteer is familiar with the teaching method, they can teach on their own. Volunteers must be capable of adapting to different situations as they may be asked to do a variety of other tasks.  French teaching volunteers can assist teachers with French rhymes and songs as an icebreaker. They can also help students with their homework, organize fun activities, marking and supervising class. Their involvement in the classroom can be adjusted to fit their abilities and interests. French nationals who wish to expand their knowledge of English are encouraged to apply. This provides them with the chance to gain English proficiency through interactions with both students and teachers.
