SFLIG Volunteers unfortunately cannot provide financial assistance to our volunteers during their stay in Ghana. The program fees cover food, accommodation, utilities, airport pickup/drop off, 24/7 in-country support, and security. These costs help us give volunteers a seamless transition to focus on their program objectives.
To keep the overall cost down, volunteers are responsible for obtaining various items before departure. We will assist as needed to help volunteers obtain the following items at their own cost:
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

ACCOMMODATIONS, MEALS, AND OTHER INCLUSIONS
As an intern/volunteer, it’s your responsibility to confirm what’s included in the project cost. Living and eating facilities at your project location will be of local standard, which may differ from what you’re used to in your home country. You may have to share a bedroom and/or bathroom. Couples and family can have their own room to themselves. If you choose to be away for a weekend or a holiday during your placement, you will not receive a refund for the time you’re away from your project for any meals or accommodations. Your fee includes two main meals a day (breakfast and dinner), while you’re free to make yourself lunch if you’re at home. You’ll also have a shared room, including toilet facilities. Your fees help to pay accommodation, feeding, water, security, housekeeping, cooking and all amenities. On weekends volunteers are allowed to make their own food or order food from nearby restaurants.
