teaching and assisting
Teaching and Assisting School volunteer and internship program aims to support deprived schools. SFLIG Volunteers would like to have you join our mission to support education as a volunteer. We’re looking for volunteers who can help by teaching and assisting school children from ages two to sixteen. Volunteers are allowed to decide the age range to work with. On the first day, the volunteer is introduced to the school or class and the teaching methods used. Volunteers help in Mathematics, Science, English, ICT, Social Science, Reading, Art, Music, etc. Teaching and assisting in School Volunteer placement is done in Nursery, Primary, and Secondary schools. Volunteers introduce fresh perspectives and innovative techniques in teaching students. Volunteers must note that disciplinary and teaching styles are different from their home country. Volunteers first assist the local teacher and eventually teach on their own if they prefer. Volunteers must be flexible to assist with helping in organizing classrooms and administrative duties. There is a lack of infrastructure making classrooms overcrowded. You don’t need prior teaching experience or formal training to volunteer in Ghana. You can tailor your level of involvement in the classroom to your skills and interests. The most important thing is to be willing to share and be proactive. SFLIG Volunteers believe in making a difference and inspiring the next generation through volunteering and internship
